I used red card stock, the background was generated on the computer and the reindeer is a lace one made on my sewing machine and held on with a brad. An Entry

I never find time anymore to enter challenges always so busy doing this flippin house and garden up, so I have taken time out to enter http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ this one instead of just being a Guest DT. It's theme is "add some texture", so some embossing from the parchment and ribbon and a little decoupage is my bit of texture. Now back to the garden.

April Guest Card

I made a shutter card, been a long time since I hand cut one of these, it's also been a long time since I used peel off's, I forgot how fiddly they were, with arthritic fingers. The centre piece of embroidery was done on my machine and I found a Spellbinders Die to make a frame for it.

March Guest DT Card

My card this month for http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ Is not an embroidered one, I have had such a lot on this last few months I sort of ran out of time to make the embroidery pattern. So instead I have used my computer to make the background and image, from one of Docrafts discs, then glued a button in the centre of the flower and sprayed it all over with Spray and Shine, boy does that stuff stink, I then cut out a card blank on ScanNCut and attached my image to that. The theme this month on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ is "Button it Up" hope you can join us this time.

For mine I once again embroidered the two corners and the words, used my ScanNCut to make the white frame, I used a punch for the two corners, the pine cones and the stopper are from Klever Konstructions. The whole thing being mounted onto an easel type card.

What a CRAP COMPANY

Has anyone else had any problems with IDEAL WORLD

I ordered a pack of cars with 12 free batteries, got the cars NO BATTERIES, now they are trying to tell me  I ordered the wrong thing so how come I have the print out from their web site showing the cars with the batteries.

There were 3 options

 A pack of two cars with 12 batteries £34.99 (the one I ordered)

A pack of two cars with 12 batteries £69.98

A car on it's own with no batteries £34.99

So if I ordered the wrong lot how come I got a pack of two for £34.99

Honestly folks if they are so hard up they have to cheat a pensioner out of £4.99 what sort of a company are they

It's not  the batteries it's the principle that they offer a package deal then welch on it.

CHNC December

For my December card as Guest Designer on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/  I have embroidered the main scene and words then used my ScanNCut to make the card and stand I then found a die that would give me a frame to pop over the raw edges of the material.

Guest Card for CHNC

Well it's been a while but my move on 21 May was not a smooth one, then BT couldn't fit the internet for 6 weeks, the house is in a state of dis-repair so been busy renovating, still have loads to do but crafting is calling.
So here is my first card since moving to my new home, it is a Guest Design Card for http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ please do go along and join in if you can, Hazel has some great card challenges running with great prizes. Hope to see you there.

 

 

I used plain green card stock folded to a stepper, the main image is my embroidery on cream cloth, the flower was a gold doily, the  paper tree is a cutting file and the sentiment is ribbon.

Guest Design Card

Still busy packing and this may be the  last for a few month's. As yet I haven't got a move date but things have to be packed away. But oh what fun when I start to unpack and find all my crafting goodies, it will be like having all new things to play with.

This week the theme is "Seeing red - a little or a lot" I do hope you will join us there, we are in April already so the month's are zooming past so best to get started on those cards as soon as possible.
As most of my stash is now in storage, my card was just a quick redwork embroidery on blue cotton/poly then glued onto a gold piece of card and then onto a red card blank. Simple but gets the message across.

Guest DT Card

Start of yet another month this year seems to be going faster than any other.

My card this month for http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ as Guest DT is this one

 

The challenge is "add ribbon/twine fibre etc". Do go along and take part.

My Angel is one of my Embroidered Embellishments from http://craftybrensembroideredtoppers.weebly.com/  and to keep in the theme I added the ribbon through the slots of the head and skirt. Although strictly speaking the cotton used on the embellishment is a sort of twine. Well I can try to get away with that one.
The background, well this is where I was a bit stumped, I was not at my usual computer so had no background images etc with me, all I had was a graphics program and some pictures of my lace embellishments, so taking bits of those and swirling them around a bit this is the result.

The red part looks nothing like a lace heart now, the green looks nothing like a white bell and the snowflakes were the centre of a lace flower. Don't you just love a graphics program.

Oh well at least it's a one off.

Die Cuts

For this weeks challenge at http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's use a die cut or punched shape.
I thought I would go really bright with this one as today is so miserable out wind, rain and dark skies

I used Tonic Dies on the yellow cuts
Tonic Punches on the flowers
The words and snowman are ready made die cuts.

Not sure who would want such a bold card on display, but it brightened my otherwise dull day.

Patterned Paper

Left the sewing alone for today and did a bit of cd card making, you forget what great images you have stored away.

I must admit I have been so busy on the sewing front I had forgotten how you get totally absorbed into card making, once you get stuck in. I was browsing my CD images for over an hour before I realised I hadn't eaten.

February Guest DT entry for CHNC

Well it's 1st February and at last the sun is shining, will it last, I doubt it but it's nice to see it.

With plain grey card stock I added dotty paper, then using Calibur I cut some stripy paper, and to give it a splash of colour and a Christmassy look I added one of my free standing lace candy canes with a brad, these can be purchased from
