My Guest DT Card

Morning it has been a few weeks again since I posted but just when you think you are organised something else crops up. I am not complaining I love to be stitching or knitting.
 I then got a gentle reminder from Hazel to say I was sponsoring this weeks challenge on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ so came up with this little card, as guest designer for this week, the theme being "light it up" so I chose to embroider a candle lamp.

Had Time Out

Not been around for a week, all started off with grandchildren staying while their mummy moved house, of course that fell in with Halloween so was busy making treat bags etc. Now I have a poorly knee and can't get around much, (arthritis). Just have to sit and craft I suppose.

The main picture is an old recycled Christmas card but I added 3 red beads to the holly (which hardly show), the flowers I made adding a touch of sparkle to the veins, the sentiments are from Paper Stash and I used glitter card stock to mount them on

Another Christmas Card

This card I made for http://thegloryofchristmaschallenge.blogspot.de/ the theme is a bingo one so lots of choices. I chose to work down, under the I, so it =, text, edge punch, jesus, and gold.

Had a few problems taking the picture as the card is metallic and my camera didn't like it.

Recycled

Stripping off last years Christmas cards and crackers and sorting through off cuts of card I am finding enough stash to make cards  for next to nothing for the charity stall for the school funds. This is one of them.

My New Dies

This week on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's a "Make it Square " so I thought I would try out my new dies from Tonic.

So using the flower punch I made the poinsettia and using the new verso die I made the matt, I then cut a 6 x 6 card (yes I am still in inches) threaded a ribbon and then a couple of red embellishments completed the look.

Found a Cutting File

I came across this cutting file whilst browsing my patterns and thought it would make another entry for CHNC as it depicted the stable scene. So I set too and cut it out, folded the lattice work, and backed it with blue mirri board

Three Main Colours

My Guest Design Card

This week I am Guest Designer and Sponsor for : http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

You can read on there that Hazel (the organiser) wrongly told me the theme for this weeks challenge  so hence the wrong style card is entered, but we all make bo boobs I am the worlds worst for this.

Anyway here is my card

I first stitched the two oblong pieces of card and then the square piece I layered them onto pink card and then attached them to a new (to me) fold card. I then punched out from left over peel off backing sheets the gold pieces and finally decoupaged the centre piece.

Last for a couple of weeks

I am looking after my daughters 3 little rascals while they are away for a couple of weeks, so will probably not have time to enter any more challenges for a bit.
This one is for CHNC the theme being "layer it up" so as well as matt and layering I have decoupaged a Father Christmas and of course added a bit of stitching, nothing to do with the challenge but just because I like stitching.

Anything Goes Christmas

Scraps

Browsing through blogs I came across this Challenge Blog http://bruggetje.blogspot.nl/ and thought yes good idea  I have loads of scraps. so this card is made up of odds and ends from wrapping paper to even part of a chocolate box, the bow was left over Christmas decorations from years gone by.
So I punched and cut and stitched and came up with this.

The theme is get inky and / or painty, as I am no good at either of those, I chose 3 stamped  little images  using Kan Ban Stamps, and used water colour pencils, then glittered to try and hide the rough edges. So there is a little painty going on but as much as I dare.

New Card Design

Trying out a new card design I made on my Silhouette, I then added some Spirelli and Decoupage as a topper. I left the toppers sentiment space free so it could suit most occasions.

More Stitching

Here I have combined hand stitching onto card with machine embroidery. The card is a trapeze style card, where the hand stitching actually holds the centre piece in. I love making these cards, although they take a while I can sit and get lost in my stitching.

Wanted to Share

As most of you know I am a keen machine embroiderer, so wanted to share one of my latest little bits with you. My daughter got married on 24 August so I made her this ring cushion as she had a black white themed wedding.

A Week Off

After having a week off from crafting, well serious crafting, because I had my grandson to stay, so all I could do was in his words "cards for my mum and dad and brothers". I am raring to get my hands moving again, this week on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "No Sentiment" so this little black and white number fits the bill.
It was a kit I bought ages back on QVC that never got used as I am not into kits, but sorting through my craft things for old things my grandson could play around with I found it. So I licked and sticked while he embossed and painted.

Christmas Cards All Year Round

I was directed to this Challenge Blog by a friend and saw it was "All About Santa" this month at http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/july-challenge.html  so just had to enter my rocker card of Santa
I used one of my embroidered embellishments, mounted it on gold mirri and then onto a rocker card added a few bows and glittery baubles and this will go to one of my grandchildren

Sparkles Christmas Challenge

Came across this challenge blog the other day whilst blogging around http://sparklesforumchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ so thought why not enter one of my embroidered trees, as the challenge is "Christmas Trees".
 The tree is one of my embroidered lace trees, attached to the background with a brad to give it movement, whilst the background was made with digitising software, I've added a few peel offs in gold to tone with the brad and backing card.

Another week gone by, I just can't keep up, they said as you get older time goes more quickly, but I never thought this fast.
This week on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "Trees" so my embroidered Father Christmas on his sleigh flying through the trees fitted the bill. It is dangling on a brad to give it movement. I then used a background from MCS and added a bow and words then mounted it on mirri board and an A5 blank card.

so I thought "the night before Christmas" was a very exciting time, waiting for Santa.

Been a busy little rascal these last couple of weeks, but hey that's the way I like it.
This week over on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "frame, window or aperture" so for my entry I found a pair of curtains, a snow scene background and a trio of robins sat in a bird bath, put the curtains on the front of the card and placed the background and robins on the inside, after cutting out between the curtains to make the aperture I added the bow and sentiment and this is it.

Another week gone by, just don't know where this year is going, I blinked and missed weeks somewhere.
This week on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "seeing stars", so this is my entry, embossed via an old fashioned stencil, in other words by hand, then cut out the centre star, added a little picture,
hoping it hasn't detracted from the embossed stars, popped on a ribbon and peel off

This time on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "Add a Sentiment" well mine is all sentiment, just one word. Yes it's very plain but the person this is for is that way inclined very minimalistic is that a word.

Another week gone by at this rate it will be Christmas before we have had summer.

Still by making these cards for http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/  I shall be ready with my cards.
This week it's "red and green must be seen" so here is mine.
I used a circular punch on some wrapping paper then added a vintage decoupage Father Christmas from an old card, used up a bit of left over plaid paper and mounted it all onto green card stock. So basically made from left over bits and recycled. I hate waste.

This week on http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ the theme is "wonderful wings" so of course I have to have my favourite little bird, I love these little friendly birds they come eat from your hand and always keep you company when gardening, saves me talking to myself. Ooops on with the challenge. This card was all done on a digitising programme, quick and simple.

Ok so I'll start the ball rolling again shall I. My chosen two colours for this month's challenge of "monochrome" over on http://craftybrensnaughtystep.blogspot.co.uk/ is white and beige. I have been playing with bows this last few weeks so yes you guessed it a bow on my entry.

So I have chosen to do a hand embossed and cut topper, rather than use my machine, it's so nice to sit and proper craft as I call it now and again. Then mat and layered onto green and red card stock, then added a bow and a tiny embellishment. The words are just a peel off.

Cupcake Crafting

This challenge on http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ is "cool  men" this stepper card is in blues black and greys and was for my grandson who is at that age now were the most important thing in life is his ipod and xbox.

Most of the shapes were cut with Spellbinder dies and the picture came from a magazine.

Cupcake Craft Challenge

It's "Mythical Creatures" 0ver at http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/. This gothic fairy surely is mythical. Pictures mounted onto dark blue and black card then I made a shaped stepper card and added a few die cuts to complete the picture.

This week over at http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ it's "3 of something" on a Christmas Card, so I have 3 bears decorating the tree. The image is taken from one of docrafts CD's then mat and layered onto backing paper made from part of the image, all put onto a 6 x 6 card with a paper ribbon in toning colours added to the side.

I say bring back the good old crafting methods Teabag folding Iris Folding etc, love those effects and they are all truly handmade. But hey that's my opinion and I am old fashioned.

This one I made with the help of a Papermania Cd image and the backing paper was taken from part of the image and tiled then I added a die cut border and foiled card.

This time on http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ the theme is "It's Only Words", so for my entry I used an embossing folder, a nestie die a few stick on gems and a pre made butterfly.
Sorry the light was not good for the picture it is supposed to be black and white but it looks bluey grey.
